Eagle heaven

After the excitement at Mildenhall I went to Lakenheath to kill a couple of hours until an AWACs was due in, but the 'heath was busy and I stayed there missing the E3 when it arrived at the 'hall.
Yet again it was the top man in 0133 that gave all the best photo passes, whoever that pilot is, thanks very much for some great images, much appreciated!

Hi again, Nigel.

It's a funny thing, but I'd have thought that your pictures on this site (which are frankly staggering) would attract loads of comments!

I'm not really a huge fan of aviation photography (I don't dislike it - far from it - it's just something I don't usually feel the urge to try) but I have to say that I'm starting to wonder about having a trip over to my (civil aviation) airport tomorrow...

Awe-inspiring photographs, Nigel.

Many thanks Keith, Careful you'll get hooked and be up in the hills in no time!
I started photography primarily for reference images to use when painting my models.
I had a couple of years after losing my dad when it was difficult to go out
to airshows and air-bases, as I had always gone with him since childhood......
If only I could get him back for a day and take him up the Welsh hills.
