A very wet morning at Lakenheath proved to be fruitless, bar the C5 That departed on 06 at 10:20 am, that was hardly airborn before it faded to grey in the low cloud.
Cold hands and feet, but warm company to exchange tales of even worse weather and missed jets made the morning pass quickly.
Tea and burgers at "Walkers" and then off to the trailer in the campsite at Mildenhall west end, the grey murk lifted to a broken sky with some sunshine, saving the day! A KC10 taxied out and sat waiting to roll onto the runway for about 35 minutes before backtracking to the ramp.
Late afternoon a setting sun gave the sky some texture and colour, and eventually the Hercules in the circuit flew through the good bits of sky.
